1. Carlos State Park is very close to our house. If you can, get the lower campground by the lake. There's also an upper campground which is more secluded if you prefer.

2. Arrowwood, a Radisson Resort. It's very nice and the most expensive resort/hotel in Alexandria but worth it. Connected to the lake my parents live on and accessable by boat at their huge marina.
